The site's owner is currently imprisoned in Poland, fighting extradition to the United States. Although the original Kickass website is no longer operational, the original site's staff has established a new website. It also bears the same name and looks like the original KickassTorrents. The torrents site at katcr.co is a new site, not a proxy of the old one, and some users report that it falls short of the original's standards.
